Two year olds don’t sit still unless they’re sick or asleep.  Obviously this little guy was neither and he was moving fast.  It’s easy to see how it could be difficult to snag some pictures of what you want with these little ones, but I’m looking at the bright side.  All other ages are harder to get so many pure expressions of a personality.  Of course I like to work hard to catch the smile that is so pleasing to see, and because of their short attention spans I’m able to catch a bunch of all the other expressions that you see in your child.

One tip that this mom and I learned during this particular session was that if your little one hasn’t ever had the chance to play in the surroundings you pick (i.e. Avery Park in Corvallis), your chances of getting a “sitting still” portrait are significantly reduced.  But like I mentioned above…..that’s OK and we got plenty more great shots of him in action!
